Overview The Upper Colorado River Recreation Area spans a unique and beautiful landscape, known for its diverse water features, abundant wildlife, and cultural landscapes along the Colorado River Headwaters Scenic Byway. There are many notable segments of the Upper Colorado River Area, but the popular Pumphouse Recreation Area offers camping opportunities. This area combines calm boating waters through heritage ranchlands with more challenging rapids in the intervening canyons. Please be aware of dangerous rapids and practice water safety . Know Before You Go Nearby Camping reservable on rec.gov: Radium Recreation Area - $25 per site, per night. Pumphouse Recreation Area - $25 per site, per night. Group Sites available for $75/night.
